TriArt Hardwoods Lifetime Labor Warranty and 2-Year Remodeling Warranty

Our Warranty

At TriArt Hardwoods, we stand behind our workmanship. Our NWFA-certified crew installs and refinishes floors to National Wood Flooring Association standards. If a problem caused by our workmanship ever comes up, we'll come back and fix it.

1. What "lifetime" means

The lifetime flooring warranty lasts for as long as the original purchaser owns and lives in the home where the work was done. It starts once the job is paid in full.

2. What's covered for life

The lifetime warranty covers problems caused by our workmanship on:
  • Hardwood floor installations using flooring bought from TriArt Hardwoods
  • Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) installations using flooring bought from TriArt Hardwoods
  • Dustless hardwood refinishing done by TriArt Hardwoods. For refinishing, coverage is limited to finish that peels, flakes, or fails to bond because of how we applied it. Normal wear of the finish is not covered.

Work done with flooring bought anywhere else is not covered.

2A. 2-Year Remodeling Warranty

Remodeling work by TriArt Hardwoods, such as bathroom remodels, has a 2-year workmanship warranty. It starts when the job is complete and paid in full. During those 2 years, we'll fix problems caused by our workmanship at no cost for labor or materials. The same claim process and conditions in this document apply. Fixtures, appliances, faucets, tile, and other products are covered only by their manufacturers' warranties, and we'll help with those claims the same way we do for flooring. The lifetime coverage in sections 1 and 2 applies only to the flooring services listed there.

3. What we'll do

If we find that the problem comes from our workmanship, we'll repair or redo the affected area at no cost to you for labor or replacement materials, using the method we choose. This warranty doesn't provide refunds or cash payments. [After the first year, a trip charge and the cost of moving furniture may apply.]

We'll match the existing floor or finish as closely as we reasonably can, but we can't guarantee an exact match in color, sheen, or product, especially as materials age or products are discontinued.

4. Material issues

Flooring and other products are covered by their manufacturers' warranties, not by TriArt Hardwoods. If a problem comes from the material, such as a defect in the boards, the factory finish, or a fixture, we'll work with the manufacturer for you. We'll help document the problem, file the claim, and support it. The manufacturer alone decides whether a claim is approved.

5. How to make a claim

Contact us in writing within 30 days of noticing the problem. Include your invoice, a short description, and photos if you have them. You'll need to give us reasonable access to inspect the work and make any repairs. TriArt Hardwoods will decide in good faith whether the problem comes from our workmanship.

6. Keeping your warranty valid

  • Care for the floor and other finished surfaces according to TriArt's and the manufacturer's care guidelines, using approved cleaning products.
  • Keep the home between 45% and 55% relative humidity and 60-80°F year-round.
  • The warranty covers owner-occupied homes only. It doesn't cover rental or commercial properties, and it doesn't transfer to a new owner.
  • The warranty ends if anyone other than TriArt Hardwoods repairs or alters the work, including sanding or recoating a floor.

7. What's not covered

  • Normal seasonal gaps between boards, or natural changes in color, fading, or darkening from sunlight
  • Scratches, dents, everyday wear on the finish, or changes in sheen over time
  • Damage from water, leaks, flooding, high humidity, or other moisture, including cupping, crowning, and buckling
  • Subfloor or structural problems such as settling, shifting, cracking, or a subfloor that flexes
  • Normal movement of floating floors
  • Damage from heavy objects like pool tables or pianos, pets, accidents, misuse, or vandalism
  • Damage from improper cleaning products or methods
  • Grout and caulk upkeep, including sealing, and cracking or discoloration from normal use
  • Leaks or water damage from fixtures, supply lines, or plumbing we didn't install
  • Problems with existing walls, framing, plumbing, or electrical that we didn't replace
  • Fire, storms, and other acts of nature
  • Conditions that existed before our work
  • Problems from subfloor or moisture conditions the customer chose not to correct after we recommended it, or from work done at the customer's request against our written advice
  • Indirect or consequential costs, such as hotel stays, lost time, or damage to other property

8. Entire warranty

This is the only warranty TriArt Hardwoods provides for this work. It can only be changed in writing, signed by TriArt Hardwoods. It's in addition to any manufacturer warranties on the products used.

TriArt Hardwoods does not cover deep cleanings under warranty.
