Now that you know what to expect from us, you should keep the following in mind to consider before your project begins.
#1. The condition of your floors
The second thing you need to consider is the condition of your floors. If your floors are in good condition, they can probably be refinished.
However, if they’re in poor condition, they may need to be replaced. We can help you determine the condition of your floors and let you know if they can be refinished or not.
#2. The color
If you want to change the color of your floors, you’ll need to choose a new stain. Some tips for deciphering a color are:
Undertones- the lightfastness and how it will interact with your chosen stain.
Opacity- The opacity is how see-through the color is. If you want a more natural look, then you’ll want to choose a less opaque color. However, if you want a bolder look, then you’ll want to choose a more opaque color.
Sheen- the sheen is how shiny the finish is. If you want a more natural look, then you’ll want to choose a lower sheen. However, if you want a shinier finish, you’ll want to select a higher sheen.
#3. Cost
Refinishing your hardwood floors can be costly because of the time it takes, so you’ll need to factor that into your budget. The investment will pay off as it will raise the value of your home and make it look more attractive to potential buyers if you ever decide to sell.
If you’re considering having your hardwood floors refinished, contact TriArt Hardwoods today. We’ll be happy to answer any questions you have and look forward to helping you restore your original floors.
